Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
Valid certification or licensure as required by New Jersey state regulations (ASCP or equivalent preferred)
Proficiency in Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and familiarity with CLIA regulations
Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and accurate documentation practices
Strong attention to detail, quality control, and commitment to patient safety
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Key Responsibilities
Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology) following established protocols
Conduct Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), verify results, and ensure accurate documentation in the LIS
Perform routine quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure a safe, efficient laboratory work environment
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment
Adhere to hospital and laboratory safety policies, infection control practices, and regulatory standards
