CVE is seeking an experienced
Construction Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist
to join our Human Resources team. This role will provide daily recruiting support to the HR Director and Division/Department Managers to help meet our growing staffing needs.
In this position, you will source, screen and hire skilled trades professionals and construction management staff—including electricians, project managers, VDC engineers and other key roles—for our electrical construction projects across the country.
What You'll Do:
Recruiting and Sourcing:
Post and maintain job openings on industry-specific job boards, social media and professional networks to attract top talent quickly.
Proactively source candidates through cold calling, social media outreach, career fairs, community events and targeted searches.
Screen resumes, conduct initial phone/video interviews, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline and database of skilled trades and professional candidates for current and future openings.
Collaborate closely with hiring managers and jobsite leadership to understand project staffing needs, timelines, and specific requirements.
Adjust sourcing strategies based on project types, location, and urgency.
Represent CVE at career fairs, industry events, and local community hiring events.
Source candidates for internship and college recruiting initiatives from universities and technical training programs.
Candidate Management
Schedule interviews, send reminders and keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment process.
Deliver a positive, professional, and organized candidate experience at every stage.
Communicate effectively with HR, hiring managers, and candidates to facilitate smooth interview coordination and decision-making.
Conduct frequent outreach via phone, text, email, and messaging to engage and nurture passive candidates.
What You'll Bring:
Recruiting Experience : Proven success in full-cycle recruiter, including building talent pipelines, effective screening, and closing candidates on offers.
Construction Industry Knowledge : Solid understanding of electrical construction or broader construction trades, common project types, roles, licenses and certifications.
Hands-on Technical Skills : Experience working with an ATS, cold calling, and generating leads through phone, social media, and in-person networking.
Candidate Focus : Demonstrated ability to recruit both skilled trades/craft professional and salaried construction professionals (e.g. project managers, estimating, safety, support roles).
Communication and Influence : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong persuasion and relationship-building abilities.
Organization and Execution : Strong organization and tracking skills with the ability to manage multiple openings simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Union and Industry Awareness : Good understanding of construction labor unions and labor market dynamics.
Mobility : Willingness to travel locally or regionally to attend career fairs, hiring events, and industry functions.
Bilingual
(English/Spanish) is a plus.
