POSITION SUMMARY
The production supervisor is responsible for supervising the production team in a manufacturing environment ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. The supervisor will manage staff, organize/monitor workflow, implement policies, and implement continuous process improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will be directly responsible for safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety – Implementation of Matheson's safety procedures, maintenance of safety logs, and upkeep of a clean and safe workplace.

Productivity – Implementation of continuous process improvement programs to increase productivity, reduce costs, shorten production cycle time, and reduce quality issues.

Purchasing – Responsible for purchasing components required for building and refurbishing cryogenic food freezers, maintaining inventory at proper levels, and establishing vendor relationships to decrease costs and improve quality.

Staff – Recruiting, training, and maintaining staff.

Production Scheduling – Establishing production plan, scheduling and assigning personnel to complete projects on time, coordinating with customers and Matheson employees to achieve customer satisfaction, providing project updates, revising schedules, and resolving issues.

Accounting – Tracking project costs and billing customers for completed work in collaboration with company accountants.

Field Service – Scheduling maintenance and installations for freezers and pipe installations (Western Region).

Finished Goods Inventory – Managing inventory of used food freezers and communicating availability with the marketing group and Matheson sales force.

Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

HOURS OF WORK
Typical hours are Monday through Friday with possible Saturday hours to meet customer needs. This is a full‑time position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises local site employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meets the following requirements:

College degree in engineering, engineering management, or significant related experience.

3+ years of plant, production, manufacturing, or equivalent experience.

Inventory management experience.

Ability to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to perform basic administrative functions and problem solving.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
