Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Content Creator to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through Northwood Church. This role is responsible for capturing, creating, and managing engaging digital content across our social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about ministry, understands digital trends, and can translate moments into meaningful, shareable content.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Develop and maintain a consistent visual and messaging style aligned with the church’s voice and mission
Write compelling captions that reflect the heart and culture of the church
Content Capture & Coordination
Capture photo and video content during Sunday services and special events
Coordinate and manage a team of volunteer photographers and videographers
Create shot lists and ensure key moments are consistently captured
Editing & Production
Edit video content for reels, stories, and longer-form posts
Perform basic photo editing to maintain quality and consistency
Adapt content for different platforms and formats
Scheduling & Posting
Maintain a content calendar and schedule posts in advance
Ensure timely and relevant posting for events, sermon series, and church initiatives
Monitor engagement and adjust content strategy as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
Proficiency in video editing (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
Basic photography and photo editing skills
Strong eye for aesthetics, storytelling, and branding
Experience writing engaging social media captions
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable leading and coordinating volunteers
Additional Expectations
Must be available on Sundays to capture content
Available for 1–2 in-office workdays during the week
Availability for occasional one-time and special events (e.g., conferences, holidays, church-wide events, or evening gatherings) as needed
Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of the church
A heart for ministry and using digital platforms to reach people
Preferred Candidate
Previous experience managing social media accounts for organizations, brands, or ministries
Familiarity with church culture and language is a plus
