Overview

Christopher’s Reason, a fully operating OASAS Outpatient Clinic, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide clinical support, counseling, and guidance to individuals in recovery. The LMHC will play a vital role in creating and implementing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving long-term wellness. This position can be for part-time or full-time, and the salary range is $25-$30 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and licensure. Please provide certificates and references along with your resume. Only Licensed Mental Health Counselors will be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to clients managing substance use disorders.

Conduct clinical assessments to determine clients’ treatment needs and goals.

Perform mental health, substance use, and risk assessments in accordance with OASAS standards and clinic policies.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in alignment with OASAS regulations.

Facilitate therapeutic groups to promote resilience, coping skills, and relapse prevention.

Coordinate care with medical staff, peer support, and other team members to ensure comprehensive treatment.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, agency, and OASAS requirements.

Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.

Maintain required certifications and complete all continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) — required.

MHC-LP (Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit) may be considered based on experience.

Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.

Experience in substance use disorder or mental health counseling preferred.

Excellent punctuality, dependability, and professionalism.

Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and clinical skills.

Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance use disorder treatment.

Compassionate, client-centered approach with the ability to engage diverse populations.
