Position Overview
LaGuardia Community College’s Political Science Program is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach a single section of Politics of Latin America and the Caribbean to first‑ and second‑year students. The position is part‑time and may vary each semester. The preferred format is in‑person, most likely in the evening during the Fall 2026 semester.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Political Science or an equivalent, or active progress toward a Doctorate in Political Science.
Ability to teach successfully.
Interest in productive scholarship or achievement.
Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years’ experience teaching relevant courses at the undergraduate level.
Experience with teaching Latin and Caribbean American politics.
Compensation and Benefits
$112.50 per hour. CUNY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
