Phoenixville Borough Civil Service Commission seeks applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer (full-time) with the Phoenixville Borough Police Department.
Location
The Borough of Phoenixville is a 3.5-square-mile town located about 30 miles west of Philadelphia in Chester County.

Applications and all required forms are available during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, excluding holidays) from the Human Resources Department, Phoenixville Borough Hall, 351 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Applications may also be requested by mail or accessed online at phoenixville.org. There is no application fee.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED
United States citizenship
Must meet all Civil Service requirements
Must be Pennsylvania Act 120 certified OR currently enrolled in a Pennsylvania Municipal Police Academy pursuing Act 120 certification at the time of application
Any conditional offer of employment for candidates currently attending a police academy is contingent upon successful graduation and certification through MPOETC
Age and Residency Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the application deadline. Officers must reside within 25 miles of the Borough of Phoenixville at hire or upon completion of the probationary period.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Human Resources Department at Borough Hall or sent via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Applications must be received no later than 3:30 PM on Friday, May 30, 2026.
Testing Process
Physical agility and written testing will be conducted at Phoenixville Area High School, Washington Field and gymnasium, 1200 Gay Street, Phoenixville, PA, on the following dates at 8:00 AM: June 7, 2026 and June 13, 2026.
Physical Agility Standards
One-mile run in under 10 minutes
Obstacle course including:
Sprinting/running components
Weighted sled push (to simulate a vehicle push)
Weighted body drag
Scaling a 5-foot wall
Additional Testing Components
Oral examination
Background investigation
Polygraph examination
Medical examination
Psychological examination
Other
