Position Summary
As a 1099 Contract Interpreter, you will play a vital role in supporting diverse communities by delivering on‑site interpretation services in a variety of settings. This role offers flexible, per diem assignments with competitive pay, allowing you to build a rewarding and scalable career. We seek reliable, professional, and detail‑oriented individuals who are passionate about language access.
Requirements
Provide accurate, on‑site interpretation between English and your target language
Travel to client locations within a 30‑mile radius of Boston, MA
Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and appropriate tone during all assignments
Deliver clear and complete interpretation without omissions or additions
Follow interpreter ethics standards set by IMIA, NCIHC, ATA, NAJIT, and ISO, upholding confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality, professionalism, and cultural competence
Respond promptly to scheduled assignments and communicate effectively with clients
Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards
Provide excellent customer service in all interactions
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Strong commitment to punctuality, preparation, and professionalism
Willingness and ability to travel locally to assignments
Languages Currently in Demand
Afar, Dari, Farsi, Karen, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi (Rundi), Kurdish, Luganda, Mai Mai, Pashto, Portuguese, Somali, Swahili, Tigrinya, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese
