TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU – Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough for ICU care. You will utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detect changes and enable intervention of life‑threatening or emergency situations. Close observation is necessary as many PCU patients receive complex medications, including intravenous lines that may need adjustment or titration. The PCU RN is also called a step‑down nurse; the unit is also known as cardiac step‑down, medical step‑down, neuro step‑down, surgical step‑down and ER holding.
Responsibilities
Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
Change dressings, insert catheters, and start intravenous lines.
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays.
Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
PCU Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to lift 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times. The fast‑paced environment requires good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Qualifications
ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications; minimum 1 year of recent acute‑care experience.
Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute‑care experience.
