Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Mechanic / Light-Duty Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of gasoline and light‑duty diesel vehicles. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles are safe, efficient, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with diesel systems, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on light‑duty diesel and gasoline engines.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical, electrical, and safety issues.
Conduct routine services such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake work, and tire rotations.
Diagnose engine, transmission, fuel, and electrical system issues using diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components including injectors, alternators, starters, and exhaust systems.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and, when needed, customers about vehicle issues and repair timelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
1–3+ years of experience working with diesel or automotive systems.
Knowledge of light‑duty diesel engines and vehicle systems.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and basic hand/power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with brands such as Ford Power Stroke, Cummins, or Duramax engines.
ASE certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Basic electrical and computer diagnostic knowledge.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Full‑time position; hours may vary based on workload.
Work performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
