Maintenance Mechanic
based in
City of Industry, CA . Provide technical support in a professional manner to the manufacturing plant, including experience in performing preventative maintenance, repair and upgrades to optimize efficiency, increase productivity, and assure safety.
Responsibilities
Follow and adhere to all safety rules, training and best practices at all times.
Demonstrate complete technical understanding and ability to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, electrical controls, instrumentation, pneumatic, lubrication and PLC systems and components.
Ensure all paperwork and digital information is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with all required information.
Attend and practice all required training.
Perform predictive maintenance techniques on equipment to enhance uptime conditions.
Teach operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment.
Complete preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks; assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of machines; partner with engineering or others on non-routine repairs and defect handling solutions.
Utilize root cause analysis to ensure sustainability of corrective actions and/or improvements to drive asset reliability.
Complete PMs as scheduled to eliminate unplanned downtime.
Proficient and diligent in use of CMMS to track maintenance action items, create and close work orders.
Classify breakdowns and analyze gaps in the process of design, fabrication, and maintenance of equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement activities, including creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, maintenance standards, and other improvement initiatives.
Follow QMS, GMP and 5S to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area with audit readiness.
Adhere to Pillar Standards and participate in Pillar activities (Quality, Focused Improvement, Safety, etc.).
Communicate effectively with Leads, OPEX Leaders, Production Leaders, Reliability Leader, Engineering and other colleagues.
Support plant production needs and priorities to achieve plant goals.
Participate in team meetings and programs; assist, train, and coach employees.
Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned or become evident.

During duties, the associate frequently handles objects, tools, or controls; expects walking, standing, and may need to sit, crawl, stoop, kneel or crouch to accomplish tasks; climbing ladders and elevated walkways may be required.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
Work near moving mechanical parts; exposure to electrical shock risk; high temperature equipment; outdoor weather conditions; wet or humid conditions.
Occasional work in high precarious locations; exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; high noise levels.
Engagement in Integrated Work Systems
Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). Participate in implementation and deployment of IWS pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; Planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or structures
Computer literacy in programming and ladder logic
Knowledge of OSHA, local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
Skills
Ability to communicate effectively in a technical manner with other Danone associates, vendors, contractors, and customers
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations in maintenance
Experience performing routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Reasoning Abilities
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret technical data and analyze variables to arrive at reasonable solutions
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
