The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is seeking a motivated student or recent college graduate eager to gain practical experience and create valuable connections in the field of information technology. Join our dynamic Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (EPMO) department for an enriching paid internship opportunity where you will participate in a wide variety of entry‑level professional, analytical, and administrative functions. The selected intern will help support our IT EPMO team in many ways, including creating project boards with status updates and providing support and capacity for enterprise priorities. Responsibilities
Create project boards using SCAG PM tools and assist with developing new templates.
Maintain project boards with status updates, notes, and tasks for projects in-flight.
Provide support and capacity for enterprise priorities and backfill for ERP priorities.
Support project delivery efforts by assisting with coordination, documentation, scheduling, and follow‑up activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
An undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in a university or community college taking classes toward Information Technology, Project Management, Business, Communications, or a related field, or who has graduated within the previous 24 months. We’ll be a great match if you have:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of basic project management principles.
Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and take initiative.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical thinking skills.
Experience using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary
Interns working toward or who possess a Bachelor’s degree will start at $21 per hour.
Interns working toward or who possess a Master’s degree will start at $24 per hour.
Work Hours & Schedule
The selected intern will establish a work schedule in consultation with their supervisor. Interns are expected to work at least 15 hours but may not work more than 29 hours per week. This internship is anticipated to begin in July 2026 and conclude by June 2027, or once the intern exhausts all 750 hours, whichever comes first.
