Job Overview
We are hiring a Maritime Welder / Shipfitter at PDS Tech Commercial Inc in Ashland City, TN. The role focuses on Flux‑Core Arc Welding on river maritime vessels and barges.
Pay & Duration
Pay
$20–25 per hour (dependent on experience) – no per diem.
Duration
long‑term or temp‑to‑hire.
Responsibilities
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
Align and fit parts according to specifications.
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units following blueprints.
Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise assemble metal components.
Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
Tack‑weld fitted parts together.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of welding experience.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, 3D prints, and schematics.
Physically able to lift 50 pounds and navigate stairs.
Comfortable working in small or enclosed spaces on a ship.
