About The Role
The Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining plant equipment in a state of readiness. Performs the appropriate plant production equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Performs required plant equipment maintenance. Informs manager of conditions that could impact production. Prepares all required daily/weekly department operating reports.
What You\u2019ll Accomplish
Inspects condition and operation of plant and mobile equipment and performs necessary repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance including handling welding repairs. Reports required repairs or other findings to Area Manager.
Completes work orders in a timely manner, installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.
Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
Assists personnel as may be required for the purposes of supporting them in the completion of their activities.
Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We\u2019re Looking For
High School diploma/GED
Minimum of two (2) years experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in heavy industry.
Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and machining equipment.
Lock-Out/Tag-Out experience
Welding experience
Experience working in confined spaces
Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software
Additional Requirements
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
