Description of Job Duties
Completes daily work assignments in line with all company procedures and safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
Maintains and promotes 5S in assigned work area and on the grounds.
Maintains maintenance equipment and tools in a safe working order.
Safely performs work outdoors during all types of weather conditions.
Follows lock-out/tag-out, confined space, hot work permits, and related safety policies.
Repairs, replaces, and maintains all plant equipment in good working condition, including valves, pumps, compressors, convey systems, chillers, etc.
Performs equipment inspections and preventative maintenance (PM) activities as per oral and written instructions.
Interprets single line diagrams, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings as needed.
Troubleshoots and dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired equipment and/or parts. Requests parts to be purchased to complete repair to Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery throughout the plant.
Fabricates equipment as required.
Enter information on paper and/or electronic work order as required. Updates CMMS or shared drive if directed by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
Stocks warehouse parts inventory as directed by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager, including reviewing packing slips, physically relocating inventory to warehouse shelving, and identifying parts that may need re-ordering.
Adheres to all quality policies and standards.
Performs all other tasks as assigned.
Member of the emergency response team, if required.
Qualifications
Maintenance or Instrument / Electrical Associates degree is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of mechanical or instrument/electrical work experience required.
Must be able to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.
Must display a strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
Must be able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, lift 50 lbs, stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time, and be physically flexible including bending, rotating, and kneeling.
Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as Level A suit, full face respirator, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, Tyvek, hearing protection, and gloves.
Must have the ability to work with a team in resolving problems together with the ability to develop effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, co-workers, managers, and other internal personnel.
Capable of operating mobile equipment.
