Summary
As a Staff Appraiser, you will serve as an Appraiser in the Project Management Office.
Location
GSA, PBS, Office of Real Property Disposition (ORPD).
Duties
Provide appraisal services related to the disposal of real property and related personal property, machinery, and equipment, including appraisal review, consultation, feasibility studies, and market analysis.
Act as an advisor and technical authority on real property valuation matters; provide expertise to agency leadership, Realty Specialists, and other Federal agencies on highest and best use proposals, land use plans, disposal and reuse plans, and related issues.
Supply pre‑approval and post‑review consultations as needed and advise on the release of appraisal reports and related information to the office and to other planning and operational activities.
Offer technical and program guidance to other Government agencies and contract appraisers on appraisal methodology, standards, program requirements, and contracts, and interpret specialized government appraisal matters such as valuing property for special use, unzoned property, property without access, or property subject to unique limitations or restrictions.
Develop technical contract specifications and select the most capable, professional contract appraisers by evaluating their proposals, reviewing qualifications, and making inquiries necessary to determine the expertise of contractors.

Qualifications

GS‑13 salary range starts at $112,556 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at Step 1 of the grade selected.
Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑12 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience includes:
Preparing appraisal and valuation services of real and commercial properties based on federal, state, and local laws.
Preparing statements of work and contract packages for appraisals and valuation services.
Applying marketing techniques to ensure that disposal strategies align with organizational goals.
Reviewing appraisal reports and/or analyzing valuation issues related to real property documentation.
