Information Security Analyst - Cybersecurity

41-45/hour W2

Uptown Charlotte, NC
Contract Duration:
12-month contract with strong potential to convert to FTE
This Information Security Analyst (Level 2) role supports the Information Protection domain through execution of governance and risk activities. This is a steady‑state governance position, not a project delivery role, focused on supporting data protection efforts, enterprise metrics, and policy adherence within a large, highly regulated environment.
The role is ideal for someone with foundational governance, risk, or cybersecurity experience who can execute defined tasks, support governance processes, and contribute to high-quality, audit‑ready deliverables. While not heavily technical, a working understanding of technical concepts will help in validating controls and supporting governance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support governance activities related to enterprise data protection requirements, including data at rest and data in flight
Execute recurring enterprise metric cycles, including data collection, validation, and basic analysis
Assist in identifying risk and control gaps and support remediation tracking and coordination
Interpret and apply information security policies and standards within defined processes
Contribute to the creation of audit‑defensible documentation and reporting artifacts
Support enterprise risk management, reporting, and audit readiness activities
Track, manage, and update governance work through JIRA and Kanban workflows
Participate in governance forums and support documentation of outcomes and action items
Maintain strong attention to detail in all deliverables and follow‑through activities
Required Qualifications
Experience in Governance, Risk, and Controls (GRC), cybersecurity, information security, IT risk, or related field
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to follow defined processes and execute tasks independently with some guidance
Experience working in large, complex, or regulated enterprise environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Tools & Skills
Experience with JIRA and/or Kanban-based work tracking (highly desired)
Microsoft Excel (data tracking, basic analysis)
Microsoft PowerPoint (supporting reporting and presentations)
Ability to clearly document and communicate governance activities and outcomes
