Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the Medical Center to support infection prevention and patient safety. Performs environmental services duties including cleaning, disinfecting, waste handling, and equipment sanitation in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Essential Functions
Performs cleaning and disinfection of patient and non-patient areas in accordance with hospital standards, infection control protocols, and assigned schedules.
Ensures proper handling, segregation, and disposal of all waste streams, including regulated medical waste and hazardous materials.
Cleans, sanitizes, and services assigned areas following established procedures and quality standards.
Maintains assigned spaces in a clean, orderly, and safe condition at all times to support patient care operations.
Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support departmental operations and thorough cleaning.
Operates environmental services equipment (e.g., floor machines, buffers, vacuums) safely and effectively.
Adheres to all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines.
Participates in departmental meetings and ongoing training (minimum of eight annually) to maintain competency and compliance.
