Investigator (Hotline)

US Department of Defense - - Responsibilities: Review and analyze complaints and other matters submitted to the DoD Hotline from the public, DoW personnel, other Federal agencies, and Members of Congress; conduct in-depth interviews of complainants and witnesses as appropriate.; Evaluate allegations, considering credibility and evidence to determine if laws, regulations, or policies were violated and assess adverse effects to DoW and Government.; Independently determine appropriate course of action, including close without action, referrals to DoW OIG, DoW components, or other Federal agencies for inquiry, audit, inspection, or criminal investigation.; Ensure confidentiality of DoD Hotline sources by implementing internal controls and advising investigating components as needed.; Manage workload and priorities, and review Hotline Completion Reports for accuracy, thoroughness, independence, objectivity, and proper application of laws and regulations.
