The AWS Cloud Platform Engineer will design, build, and optimize cloud platform infrastructure to support large-scale, high-traffic consumer web experiences.
This role focuses on AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS), GitHub-based automation, and modern CI/CD practices.
The engineer will partner closely with cross-functional teams to enable reliable delivery of digital applications, ensure platform stability, and enhance cloud architecture, scalability, observability, and operational excellence.
The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to support hybrid on-site work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Provision, scale, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for global consumer-facing web platforms.
Use AWS CDK and related AWS tools to standardize and automate infrastructure deployments.
Ensure platform reliability across production and non-production environments.
Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices for consistency, auditability, and automation.
Manage and maintain Amazon EKS clusters and containerized workloads.
Deploy applications through GitHub workflows and automated pipelines.
Ensure workload governance, cluster security, scaling, and observability across environments.
CI/CD, GitOps & Deployment
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
Partner with engineering and product teams to onboard new applications to the platform.
Promote GitOps best practices and standardized deployment strategies across teams.
Support & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, and application issues across AWS services (EKS, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.).
Ensure reliable production operations and support smooth rollouts.
Participate in incident response and drive root-cause analysis for platform issues.
Work closely with engineering, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver platform capabilities.
Develop clear documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational playbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
Communicate platform status, technical changes, and architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud architecture, observability tooling, scaling strategies, and platform standards.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of platform engineering experience.
4+ years of AWS infrastructure engineering experience.
4+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
Hands-on experience managing Amazon EKS clusters and container workloads.
Strong AWS expertise across infrastructure services, cloud operations, and deployment patterns.
Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD automation.
Experience supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing web platforms.
Strong background in containerization and microservices architectures.
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Ability to work onsite in a hybrid model when required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on impact-driven decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to create architecture diagrams and system visualizations.
Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
Familiarity with CDN/WAF platforms such as Akamai.
Knowledge of cloud networking and security best practices.
Experience working with large-scale eCommerce or transactional systems.
