1st Shift Loader
This position is responsible for accurately loading completed customer-selected pallet orders onto designated trailers according to load diagrams. This includes ensuring pallets are placed in the correct positions and orientations, securing the load with straps, and properly positioning bulkheads to maintain load stability and safety during transport.
Operate warehouse equipment safely and complete daily equipment inspections; report any issues to the supervisor
Coordinate trailer loading communicating clearly with the yard driver and other dock workers/loaders using two-way radios when necessary
Load trailers according to scheduled dispatch times
Ability to read a load map
Verify each pallet is in the correct position and orientation based on load map
Secure loads by strapping pallets tightly and verifying shrink wrap stability for safe transport
Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free dock area
Follow and promote strict safety standards to ensure a safe work environment for all team members
Pick cases when assigned
Any other warehouse duties as assigned
High school diploma preferred or GED accepted.
Ability to communicate and comprehend math, spelling and reading of various forms to ensure accurate records required.
Previous warehouse and freezer picking experience (preferred)
Warehouse industrial forklift experience (preferred)
Ability to identify different SKU numbers, barcodes, and each customers products to be loaded
Previous fork truck and loading experience (preferred)
Must be able to continuously walk the warehouse floor, cooler and freezer for an extended period of time.
Ability to stand, bend, reach and also to lift up to 100 lbs. repetitively
Warehouse environment with noise, dust, odors, and a diversity from very warm to very cold temperatures.
Move around facility during a minimum 8 hour shift
Warehouse environment with various temperatures that include freezer, cooler, and dry
Able to work in an environment with smells, dust, noise, and withstand frozen warehouse temperatures around (-5 degrees F) for extended periods of time
