Dispatcher
The Dispatcher coordinates daily transportation activities by assigning drivers and vehicles, planning efficient routes, and ensuring accurate documentation for all shipments. This role serves as a central communication hub between drivers, internal teams, and customers to support timely deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
Responsibilities
Assign drivers and vehicles based on delivery needs and production schedules to ensure timely and efficient service.
Prepare loading lists, shipping documentation, and detailed delivery directions for each order.
Plan and optimize routes and loads to support cost-effective operations and on-time deliveries.
Monitor weather and traffic conditions and promptly communicate relevant updates to drivers.
Communicate regularly with drivers, production, sales, and customer service teams regarding delivery updates, delays, and project requirements.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve delivery issues and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Contact customers to confirm delivery details and adjust schedules as needed.
Assist with pickup orders, ensuring accurate instructions and coordination with drivers and customers.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery logs, and transportation activities for tracking and compliance purposes.
Ensure adherence to company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards in all dispatch activities.
Process DOT-related reports and documentation as required.
Support general office and administrative functions, including data entry, outbound calls, and preparation of purchase orders.
Provide dispatch-related customer service by responding to inquiries, updating order status, and addressing service concerns.
Essential Skills
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and priorities at once.
Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
Proactive problem-solving skills to address route changes, delays, and service issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with drivers, internal teams, and customers.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to build positive relationships and handle inquiries professionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to perform accurate data entry and handle administrative support tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with ERP or dispatch software, such as Titan, preferred.
Familiarity with dispatching processes and transportation service coordination.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation procedures, and safety standards is a plus.
Experience handling outbound calls and providing dispatch customer service.
Experience supporting purchase order processing and general office administration.

This role is based in a concrete plant environment that can be dusty and is not climate controlled, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions. The position involves working in an office setting within the plant, using computers, phones, and standard office equipment to manage dispatching, data entry, and documentation while remaining closely connected to active production and transportation operations.
