Vernon, CA . The company specializes in producing
pizzas and cooked meat products .
Job description
Candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain activities to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and services necessary for manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement management, supplier relationships, and inventory control. The Purchasing Specialist will utilize ERP systems such as Syspro to optimize procurement processes and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Utilize ERP systems Syspro to execute purchase orders, track inventory levels, and monitor supply chain activities.
Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs based on production schedules and inventory requirements.
Analyze, adjust, and optimize product and component inventory levels and turns to coincide with operations demand, lead time changes, and movement forecasts.
Coordinate quality issues with suppliers as required and effectively manage returns to supplier.
Proactively and routinely drives spend analysis activities, identifying strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned products in conjunction with supply chain initiatives.
Understands and utilizes strategic sourcing processes to select suppliers based on the best combination of cost, capability, quality, reliability, and delivery of supplier to strict measurements and controls.
Perform problem-solving and troubleshooting when problems arise purchase orders; resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies and escalates to Purchasing Manager in a timely manner.
Create and manage purchase orders, request for quotes and request for proposals including scope of work, technical documents, pricing, procedures, cost, deliverables, and key milestones.
Works closely with management and purchasing personnel to ensure to avoid any inventory and invoice discrepancies.
Enters replenishment orders for brokered items.
Creates purchase order for outside vendors as needed.
Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages.
Reviews requisition orders to verify accuracy and specifications.
Answers phone questions with prompt follow up.
Prepares and maintains purchasing files.
Packaging expertise: Knowledge of various packaging materials (cardboard, plastics, biopolymers), printing processes, and safety standards.
Project management: Skill in managing multiple priorities, timelines, and the overall packaging design and production process.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in Purchasing manufacturing.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems procurement management.
Bilingual English and Spanish (read and write).
Schedule
Monday to Friday 6am-4pm, weekends if needed.
Pay
$26-$32 DOE
