Our office, Southwest Florida Oral Surgery - Fort Myers in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Biller to join our busy specialty practice.
As a Biller, you are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, effective follow-up on outstanding balances, and proper posting of insurance payments.
Your Responsibilities:
Submit dental claims accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with payer policies and CDT coding guidelines
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolve billing discrepancies, and submit appeals as needed
Accurately post insurance payments and adjustments, reconciling ERAs and EOBs
Monitor accounts receivable reports and take proactive steps to reduce outstanding balances
Collaborate with insurance companies, dental practices, and patients to address and resolve billing-related issues
Verify patient insurance and eligibility when needed to ensure clean claims
Stay current on insurance plan updates, payer requirements, and billing best practices
Support audits, system updates, and compliance checks related to billing functions
Assist with reporting on collections, AR trends, and other revenue performance metrics
Billing Support
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
Your Background:
This role is a key part of the back-end revenue cycle process, working to reduce aging accounts, resolve denials, and support consistent cash flow across the practice. The Dental Biller plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring claims are processed efficiently to maximize reimbursement. You also have the following:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in dental billing, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle
In-depth understanding of dental insurance processes, CDT coding, and claim submission workflows
Proficiency with dental practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) and clearinghouse tools
Experience reviewing EOBs, processing ERAs, and navigating payer portal.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external contact.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
