Position Overview

This role is essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment within a healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest region. The Environmental Services Support Aide is responsible for the effective collection and disposal of medical solid waste and trash, as well as the distribution of linen and floor care maintenance. This position also includes housekeeping and janitorial duties across patient care areas, administrative offices, and public spaces.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure a safe and clean working environment, adhering to unit-based safety and infection control protocols.
Safely move heavy equipment, bins, and receptacles as needed.
Collect biohazard waste and trash throughout the facility and dispose of it properly.
Collect and distribute linen efficiently.
Maintain and clean floors according to organizational standards and schedules.
Relocate patient beds, furniture, boxes, desks, supplies, and other equipment as assigned.
Clean and maintain assigned areas, using appropriate protective equipment and following health and sanitation standards.
Understand disaster roles and responsibilities and maintain professional, courteous customer service at all times.
Stay current with all hospital requirements such as annual TB skin tests, fit testing, and training modules.
Qualifications

Ability to push and pull a minimum of 750 lbs. and lift at least 75 lbs.
Knowledge of proper floor care, trash collection, linen distribution, and safe lifting techniques.
Experience handling cleaning chemicals and solutions safely.
Completion of on-the-job training related to cleaning equipment and health standards.
Minimum of one year of housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors and healthcare staff.
Experience with surgical services floor care, including stripping, waxing, and buffing, is a plus.
Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses

For evening shifts, a current regional driver's license is required within six months of hire or transfer.
Additional Information

Employment is contingent upon passing a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks. Compliance with regional COVID-19 vaccination mandates is required.
