CNC Machinist (Mill & Lathe)
Location: Baytown, TX Schedule: First Shift, Full-Time
We're seeking a skilled Manual Lathe & Mill Machinist to support precision machining operations in a heavy industrial setting. This role focuses on shaping and finishing metal componentsespecially pipe ends and fittingsusing manual lathe and manual mill equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Set Up & Operate Manual Lathes and Mills: Machine pipe ends and metal parts to exact specifications using manual machining tools.
Read Technical Drawings: Interpret blueprints and mechanical schematics to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Precision Machining: Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet required standards.
Pipe Beveling & Threading: Perform beveling and threading operations on large-diameter pipe sections for field installation.
Tool Maintenance: Maintain lathe and mill equipment; ensure tools are sharp, calibrated, and safe to use.
Quality Control: Inspect finished components for defects and document measurements and production data.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with welders, fitters, and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve machining issues.
Requirements
Experience operating manual lathes and manual mills in an industrial or fabrication environment
Strong understanding of machining techniques and metal properties
Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols
Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and long shifts
Ability to work rotating shifts
