Day Porter
Our sister company, CUSTOM MAINTENANCE LLC, specializes in cleaning and maintaining busy commercial shopping centers in the greater Harrisburg area. We are seeking a Day Porter.
POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a Day Porter to maintain the outside common areas of commercial facilities. Your tasks could include wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and emptying trash. You may also service the parking area and restrooms. During certain seasons, you may need to clear walkways leading up to the building. Our ideal candidate is someone who will take pride in keeping the property beautiful, clean, and comfortable for all visitors.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Remove all trash and debris from all landscaped areas within the property lines (includes all lawn areas, plant beds, fence lines, retention pond areas)
Return all misplaced shopping carts within the area to their respective cart corrals
Wipe down all windows, doors, and ledges of vacant spaces on a weekly basis
Remove all placards and temporary signs from the property, except those approved by Owner's Representative, ensure all signs are properly positioned in their designated locations
Spot clean all service corridor doors, door frames, and adjacent walls
Dust the under canopy light fixtures and clean lenses (including the removal of dead insects) as needed
Remove cobwebs, bird nests, and wasp nests as needed and notify the Owner's Representative if pest control service is needed
Blow corners and walk areas
Hand clean around all trash dumpsters
Empty trash cans and wipe trash cans and lids
Empty ashtrays if applicable
Report any safety hazards, leaning signs, damaged signs, potholes, graffiti, missing signs, light outages, or bulk trash items
Conduct and submit meter readings
Willing to help with light maintenance as needed
Other duties as assigned
Must be able to enter time in digital timecard
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license
Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred
Must perform job in accordance with CM Safety Procedure with appropriate PPE
Physical stamina to include use of ladders and moderate lifting
Must attend quarterly safety meetings.
Reporting any incidents immediately to supervisor
