Senior Strategic Buyer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead sourcing efforts for critical, high-value components from vendor identification through evaluation, selection, and implementation

Drive cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives, including negotiation, value engineering, and supplier consolidation

Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to support business growth, capacity, and risk mitigation

Partner with suppliers to resolve quality, delivery, and capacity constraints, including root cause analysis and corrective actions

Act as the supply chain lead on new product development and high-priority projects, ensuring supplier readiness and alignment to timelines

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Production to support design, cost, and manufacturability objectives

Provide support on critical supply issues and escalations, working with transactional buyers to ensure continuity of supply

Track and report on key metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, and project milestones, with visibility to leadership

Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers

Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots) as needed

Ability to travel domestically as well as internationally as necessary (up to 10%)

Indoor office/home environment

Open cubicle arrangement

Occasional shop or vendor locations

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or like field preferred

5+ years direct Purchasing and/or Supply Chain experience with both domestic and overseas procurement

Practical problem-solving approach to supply issues, business-minded, results-oriented, and a team player

Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve procurement problems

Exceptional vendor relations management

Strong oral and written communication skills

Maintain a valid Driver’s License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy

Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
