Sr. Estimator, Tunneling

Location: Houston
Compensation: $135k to $165k + Bonus
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead estimating efforts for complex tunneling and trenchless projects nationwide.
Track and manage tunneling pursuits using business development and CRM tools.
Serve as estimating lead for tunneling bids from kickoff through submission.
Develop high-level execution plans and milestone schedules.
Identify project risks and incorporate mitigation strategies into estimates.
Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and specialty teams to ensure full scope coverage.
Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to define scope and pricing assumptions.
Build detailed estimates using labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare conceptual budgets and final bid pricing for multi-million-dollar pursuits.
Present cost drivers, value options, and schedule logic during client reviews.
Transfer estimate data into project budgets and cost control systems after award.
Support post-award pricing for changes, extra work, and contract revisions.
Maintain complete estimate backup and auditable documentation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
10+ years of estimating or project experience in tunneling or trenchless construction.
Strong knowledge of microtunneling, shafts, and conventional tunneling methods.
Experience with Design-Build or Best-Value procurement preferred.
Proficient with HeavyBid, CPM scheduling tools, Viewpoint, and Microsoft Office.
