GENERAL SUMMARY
Support shop departments by performing the installation, repair, modifying, adjusting, and aligning precision machines, electronic equipment, hydraulic systems and supporting equipment in order to maintain the most efficient operations of production machinery.
Utilizes proficiency in building and manufacturing trades in the up-keep of the facilities and capital equipment.
Accountable to perform preventative maintenance work on time and in accordance with standard requirements.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Perform job duties safely and in accordance with company EHS policies.
Perform plumbing, basic carpentry, pipe bending and electrical work
Move and install production and building equipment.
Utilize and maintain hand and power tools.
Detect and correct safety hazards.
Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned.
Contact vendors as needed.
Utilize assembly drawings and machine manuals as needed.
Use various skillsets to trouble shoot and repair all production equipment.
Repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and systems.
Perform plumbing, fabrication and electrical work ranging from 0-480VAC.
Move and install production and building equipment.
Utilize and maintain hand and power tools.
Utilize test equipment
Assist in troubleshooting and repair of CNC equipment
Detect and correct safety hazards.
Perform preventative maintenance duties.
Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Drive forklifts and company vehicles as needed
Use PC as needed.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove and replace defective parts.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments as needed.
Lubricates and cleans parts as needed.
Starts and tests devices for operational efficiencies.
Sets up and operates drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Make emergency repairs when necessary to offset excessive down-time and production delays.
Observe and comply with safety precautions and lockout procedures. Utilizing extreme care on troubleshooting and repairs where high voltage is involved.
Use appropriate test instruments, gear and equipment to test and insure compatibility and safety of all circuits, in line components, switches, controls, etc., to assure performance, quality and operations.
Proceed on assignments with minimum supervision and guidance. Repair and alignment of mechanical devices.
Troubleshoot and repair inoperative, intermittent operating, or malfunctioning equipment and systems.
Modify existing malfunctioning mechanical and electronic machinery, using innovating techniques to quickly get the equipment up to an acceptable operating level.
Order spare parts.
Understand and manipulate equipment without assistance.
Develop and maintain human relations skills in order to encourage open, cooperative and effective relationships within the team and throughout the organization.
Lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts bringing improvement ideas and results.

SKILLS
Electrical and Mechanical aptitude and skills are essential.
Ability to read, write and process all instructions.
Ability to understand and complete assignments using the basic principles of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and electronics.
Ability to plan logical sequences, analyze problems and implement diversified repair, modification or maintenance to correct the situation.
Ability to analyze and think under pressure regarding the manufacturing maintenance or repair requirements.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
Ability to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and schematics
Understanding ladder diagrams, PLC and N/C / CNC interaction a plus.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to read, write and process all instructions.
Ability to understand and complete assignments using the basic principles of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and electronics.
Ability to plan logical sequences, analyze problems and implement diversified repair, modification or maintenance to correct the situation.
Ability to analyze and think under pressure regarding the manufacturing maintenance or repair requirements
Ability to obtain a forklift license and operate aerial and scissor lifts is mandatory for this position.
Ability to weld and fabricate as needed.
Basic computer skills are essential.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED.
Trade school or 6 years related experience in the electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
Proficient in any two of the following five fields (1) electrical/electronics (2) mechanical/machine repair (3) hydraulics & pneumatic troubleshooting (4) fabrication (sheet metal, welding).

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Employee must be able to work in various positions necessary for making critical adjustments and repairs to equipment.
The employee must occasionally lift, push or pull and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
