Senior Software Project Manager – MES Implementation
Contract: 12+ months
Pay Rate: $70-80/ph
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Project Manager to lead the digital transformation of our manufacturing operations from traditional paper-based processes to a fully integrated, paperless Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
This individual will be responsible for end-to-end project execution, including needs assessment, software selection, implementation, and user adoption. The ideal candidate brings strong project management experience within manufacturing environments, along with the ability to lead change across both technical teams and shop floor operations.
This role requires strong technical and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and emotional intelligence to drive cross-functional alignment and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the transition from paper-based to fully digital manufacturing systems
Own full lifecycle project execution from planning through post-launch optimization
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
Software Evaluation & Selection
Conduct needs assessments across production, quality, logistics, and other departments
Research, shortlist, and evaluate MES and related digital solutions
Manage vendor relationships, RFP processes, and software demos
Perform cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations to leadership
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
Collaborate with production, IT, quality, engineering, and leadership teams
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and feedback loops
Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
Drive user adoption across the organization
Implementation & Integration
Coordinate with internal IT and external vendors to integrate MES with ERP and shop floor systems
Monitor project progress and resolve issues
Ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
Post-Implementation Support
Define KPIs and success metrics
Ensure data integrity and user satisfaction post-launch
Continuously improve system performance based on feedback and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading MES or digital transformation projects in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to evaluate, select, and implement enterprise or manufacturing software
Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and shop floor operations
Familiarity with MES and ERP systems
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Experience with data conversion and migration
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
PMP or similar certification preferred
Experience
5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
