Primary Purpose
Develop, manage, and evaluate high‑profile, complex projects/programs/initiatives involving multiple organizations from planning to post‑implementation phases as required. Develop business plans, project charters and performance metrics to support business objectives. Ensure organizational alignment with management models and principles and drive the integration of best practices. Track and report progress on key business initiatives. Manage quality assurance and/or change management activities involving internal and external personnel. Maintain an ongoing interface with various Exelon organizations in business process execution, strategic initiative implementation and management model execution. Position may require extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

Direct development and lead teams on strategic business initiatives, projects, and programs. Lead requirements analysis, performance measurement, and/or quality assurance. Manage scope, schedule, and budget for high‑profile, complex organizational projects and programs. (20%)

Manage and report on process/project/initiative assignments. Develop performance indicators and tracking mechanisms to monitor and report results. Oversee, prepare, review, and analyze reports and controls for strategic projects and initiatives. (20%)

Develop work plans to implement corrective actions identified through performance assessment. (10%)

Oversee the establishment of business plans and objectives across multiple areas / departments. Lead stakeholders in developing business cases and prioritizing deliverables. (20%)

Lead change management activities for projects, programs, and initiatives. Develop and implement training for employees and external personnel for new processes and procedures. Develop and implement effective business readiness procedures. (10%)

Drive the integration of best practices within the organization. Investigate best practices through benchmarking and develop/excute work plans to support integration of functions and best practices identified. Maintain ongoing interface with various Exelon organizations regarding the execution of business processes, strategic initiatives, and management model. (20%)

Job Scope

This is an individual‑contributor position that works independently with little or no supervision. It requires integration of business knowledge and functional priorities to address complex problems and non‑standard situations. The position regularly mentors less experienced colleagues.

Financial Scope: Direct impact on budget is substantial. This position has a direct impact on the company’s performance regarding several key indicators including operational costs, System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), Customer Average Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI) and Customer Satisfaction by managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters, and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate management team. Drives the development of strategic and reliability projects/programs/initiatives to ensure complete and successful implementation. Develops and tracks key milestones. The cost of failure would have a significant impact on Exelon reliability and financial goals.

This position is also key to maintaining the company’s image and good standing with customers, regulators, and shareholders by coordinating and implementing high‑value strategic projects/programs/initiatives that have a direct link to either customer experience, reliability, or the bottom‑line results of the organization.

Contacts: Requires interfacing across Exelon Corporation with various levels of personnel in Customer Operations, IT, Regional Operations, Distribution Operations, Transmission Operations, Corporate Security, Communications, Regulatory, and Legal, as well as with external organizations such as PJM, governmental agencies, industry associations, municipalities, and other utilities. The ability to influence and build relationships across the organization is critical. Position will serve as a change agent in the organization.

Will regularly serve as lead for cross‑functional and cross‑company teams responsible for the integration of best practices through the organization, overseeing the establishment of business plans and objectives for multiple areas/departments, and developing performance indicators and tracking mechanisms to monitor results.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a business or S.T.E.M. field with a minimum of 7–10 years relevant experience.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position (e.g., electric or gas operations, customer service, transmission and substation, distribution system operations, regulatory and external affairs).

Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint) and relevant specialized business applications (e.g., project portfolio management, requirements/test management, CIS/CRM, customer self‑service, telephony, EPS, EAM, work management and outage management) to support business needs.

Demonstrated business acumen and ability to create value with advanced problem solving, financial/analytical, performance management, negotiation and conflict management skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead a cross‑functional team and to build consensus, establish trust, meet critical deadlines, communicate effectively, and foster culture change.

Customer‑driven with excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies, including new technology.

In lieu of a degree, 9–12 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with telecommunications, SCADA communication, network communications, or utility communications infrastructure, including fiber‑optic networks, private LTE, wireless backhaul, IP‑based networks, or hybrid communications architectures supporting operational technologies.

Working knowledge of utility communications architectures and their application to grid modernization, advanced control systems, telemetry, protection, automation and mission‑critical operational use cases.

Experience supporting or leading architecture development, technology strategy or roadmap planning for large‑scale infrastructure or network programs, including evaluation of technical tradeoffs, scalability, resiliency and lifecycle cost considerations.

Knowledge of project and program management practices, including governance models, dependency management, risk mitigation and benefits realization for complex, multi‑year initiatives.

Proven ability to analyze complex business and technical systems, interpret data and requirements from engineering, IT, OT and operations stakeholders, and recommend integrated solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.

Experience presenting technical and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, translating complex network or architecture concepts into clear, executive‑level narratives.

Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams spanning engineering, operations, IT, cybersecurity, regulatory and external partners to deliver outcomes in a regulated utility environment.

Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for utility communications networks (e.g., segmentation, zero‑trust concepts, NERC CIP alignment).

Experience working with vendors, carriers, system integrators or public‑private partnerships related to fiber or wireless network deployment.

Exposure to standards bodies or industry frameworks relevant to utility communications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, 3GPP).

MBA or Master’s degree in a S.T.E.M. field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or similar).
