Responsibilities
Advances the mission and goals of office for Faculty Affairs and the College of Arts and Sciences by managing all administrative and planning activities related to the recruitment, appointment, and development of the faculty life cycle for tenure-track, clinical/teaching/practice, research, and associated faculty including promotion and tenure, salary appeals, faculty leaves, faculty awards; provides administrative activities related to governance documents; assists with education and support to chairs in required and voluntary revisions and development of governance documents incorporating faculty affairs practices and policies; assists the Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Human Resources Business Partners on faculty recruitment, retention, conflicts of interest, and salary appeals initiatives; works closely with Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs to evaluate, revise, develop, and draft policies as they relate to faculty affairs; interprets university and Office of Academic Affairs faculty rules, regulations, and policies to guide departmental and college decision-making; liaisons with the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), the Office of Human Resources (OHR), senior leaders, faculty, and external institutions and other applicable units & departments to provide support, evaluation, and guidance regarding faculty appointments, policies, procedures, etc.; utilizes university reporting applications to generate reports and analyze data; collaborates with Business Intelligence Senior Analyst to collect data and information to prepare and present information on trends and issues; develops content for college website for faculty affairs and collaborates with ASC Marketing and Communications; oversees training for promotion and tenure workshops for faculty and departmental chairs and staff; serves as a resource regarding the Promotion and Tenure process with individual faculty and faculty leaders, ensuring P&T guidelines are current, compliant, and address the expectations for promotion within the College of Arts and Sciences; reviews submitted materials, identifying potential issues in submitted materials; identifying needs, creates content, and presents materials in meetings and training sessions as assigned; assists with scheduling meetings, maintaining calendar requests, drafts letters and correspondence; completes other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of relevant experience. Experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of University academic affairs policies on faculty appointments, promotion, and tenure; knowledge of university policies and rules and regulations.
