Overview
Job Description. Supervise operational functions such as traffic control, public safety, communications, removal of disabled vehicles and enforcement of facility regulations during an assigned shift in an emergency situation of bridges and tunnels.
Responsibilities
Program Compliance: Remain current in technical changes that may affect the operation of equipment. Ensure that proper and accurate information is transmitted through the newly activated 511 system. Ensure that all requirements of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual are being met and provide regulation of traffic using Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable regulations and policies.
Project Management: Direct and coordinate the operation of traffic management systems, electrical control systems and field operations. Direct all security functions affecting the on-going 24-7 operations of the facility as well as ensuring that all proper security requirements are being met. Coordinate and ensure timely execution and notification of road closures, bridge restrictions and suspicious activity which may affect the facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to interpret, explain and apply regulations and procedures.
Ability to lead, direct and train others in routine and emergency situations.
Ability to operate traffic management, telecommunications and audio equipment.

Valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations
Experience with traffic control functions and procedures and in the application of facility rules and regulations, governing traffic and hazardous material.
High school diploma or GED desired.
