Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine/Preventative Medicine Residency opening | Derby, CTGreater New Haven Area## Position Details Full-time, permanent faculty position Employment Type: Nonprofit, hospital-owned multispecialty group Setting: 50% education and program administration / 50% clinical practice Clinical options: Hospitalist (inpatient) or outpatient H-1B cap exempt — J-1 waiver candidates welcome (Conrad 30 pathway not required) — Green Card sponsorship available## Practice OverviewSeeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Preventive Medicine Physician to serve as Faculty Physician for a 4-year Combined Internal Medicine/Preventive Medicine Residency Program and a 2-year Advanced Preventive Medicine Residency Program: Programs affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine and academically partnered with the Yale School of Public Health Programs train 12 IM/PM residents and 2 PM residents Dual-accredited training programs cultivating physicians in individual patient care and population health Academic appointment eligibility at Yale School of Medicine and Frank H. Netter School of Medicine commensurate with qualifications Internationally recognized institution committed to patient-centered, Planetree Model care Initial faculty role with potential pathways to leadership in residency education## Key Responsibilities Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating residency curricula in accordance with ACGME standards Provide direct teaching and supervision in clinical, didactic, and educational settings Lead or co-lead conferences, didactics, journal clubs, and board review sessions Support resident clinical competence, professionalism, and scholarly work Participate in resident recruitment, selection, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluation Serve on the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) Support Program Director in ensuring ACGME compliance and accreditation Participate in Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) activities Engage in scholarly activities including research, quality improvement, or educational innovation Maintain active clinical practice in Internal Medicine## Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary with additional incentive compensation tied to productivity and quality metrics Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental (with orthodontia), vision 401(k) with employer match CME allowance and CME leave Generous paid time off including vacation, holidays, and sick time## Required Qualifications MD or DO — Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or General Preventive Medicine Connecticut medical license, DEA registration, and Controlled Substance Certificate — required or eligibility to obtain Demonstrated clinical education and leadership experience## Preferred Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or General Preventive Medicine Prior experience in graduate medical education Familiarity with ACGME accreditation and GME regulatory requirements Involvement in scholarly activity — education, research, or quality improvement Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills## About the Community – Derby, Connecticut Charming small city in the Greater New Haven area along the Naugatuck River Minutes from Yale University, New Havens world-class dining, arts, and cultural scene Excellent schools and affordable Connecticut living Easy access to New York City — approximately 90 minutes by train or car Rich New England history with beautiful four-season scenery Convenient access to Bradley International Airport and New Havens Tweed Airport
