Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives. The Sr. Operations Manager oversees all aspects of operations or functions at the site, manages and leads a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaches and mentors the team, builds positive employee relations, and develops leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Responsibilities
Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the Fulfillment Center to meet and exceed the business plan.
Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable.
Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and turning them into improvement plans for the functional area.
Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives in their area and provide needed support for other staff initiatives.
Additional Job Elements
Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
Walk around the FC at great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
Continually stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily.
Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned.
Access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques.
Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience leading large contingent workforce programs.
Experience working in fast paced environments, managing workload even during times of stress or escalated activity.
Experience working cross functionally across several teams.

Base salary range: $135,000.00 – $182,700.00 USD annually (USA, IL, Crest Hill).
