Job Summary
Hiring a tenured/tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor to teach multimedia journalism with an emphasis on interactive, visual and interdisciplinary media. The role includes teaching core writing, research, and reporting courses, mentoring students, and building industry connections. Faculty will collaborate across campus disciplines and external partners to provide a multidisciplinary global approach for students to excel in a competitive media environment.
Job Duties
The candidate will teach multimedia journalism courses including core writing, research, and reporting. The individual will engage in active learning by mentoring students, involving them in field assignments, and creating opportunities for students to be exposed to industry experts. The candidate will also work collaboratively with faculty from other disciplines across campus and with external organizations and universities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
Applicants must have knowledge of and proficiency with software programs appropriate to creating multimedia journalistic content, with the ability to design and deliver online content.
Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Journalism or a closely related communication field from an accredited college or university. Significant professional experience is strongly encouraged. A Bachelor’s Degree and extensive journalism experience will also be considered, in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
Pay Range
$75,000 – $120,000 per year
