Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results-oriented individual to serve as Statewide LGBTQI+ Clinical Coordinator. The position will administer and coordinate statewide clinical services for LGBTQI+ youth, provide expert advice and consultation to child welfare staff, service providers, and community programs, and address SOGIE matters for children and youth in DCFS care or contact.
Essential Functions
Serve as Statewide LGBTQI+ Clinical Coordinator and subject matter expert for DCFS.
Provide input into the development of culturally informed resources for supportive services.
Collaborate with management and staff from other divisions and agencies to develop affirming services for LGBTQI+ youth and families.
Direct and monitor statewide outreach efforts for LGBTQI+ youth.
Serve as the Department's LGBTQI+ liaison to community providers and national support networks, providing advocacy and education.
Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a master’s degree in social work with appropriate state licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Requires three years of administrative child welfare experience.
