Position Highlights & Qualifications

A current property & casualty license is required.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Full-Time Position 37.5 Hours per week.
Must be articulate & enjoy speaking with clients.
Strong Computer skills required: Knowledge of Word, Outlook email, and must have strong typing skills.
Knowledge of Excel a plus but not required.
At least 3 years of agency experience in commercial lines customer service.
Knowledge of agency systems: AMS360 management systems and proposal systems is desired, but not required.
Knowledge of carrier interface systems for: Accident Fund, Acuity, Auto Owners, Chubb, Conifer, Hanover-Citizens, Hastings, Fremont, Frankenmuth, Michigan Millers, Pioneer, Progressive, Safeco, Travelers, a plus, but not required.
Key Job Responsibilities

Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions.
Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, coworkers, carriers, vendors, and business contacts.
Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
Processes incoming mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
Issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to the client with appropriate correspondence.
Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals via the AMS360 proposal system as needed.
Processes renewals in coordination with Sales Executives/Account Executives according to agency procedures.
Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
Uses agency collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments.
Requests cancellations from the carrier according to agency standards; determines reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts; notifies Sales Executive/Account Executive(s); processes and follows up on cancellation requests to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims, facilitates prompt response from carrier staff and follows up on claims status, according to agency procedures.
Assists with placement and marketing of renewal accounts.
Contact carriers as required and answer correspondence in a timely manner.
Participate in and successfully complete education programs as requested by the Agency Manager.
