Description
This role is responsible for coordinating audio and digital media production, maintaining broadcast continuity, and supporting compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC), institutional, and academic standards. The position contributes to the integration of broadcast operations into a unified academic media environment that supports workforce development, student learning, and community engagement.

Examples of Duties

Coordinate daily radio and digital media production activities, including programs, underwriting announcements, station promotions, and public service announcements.
Ensure timely preparation and delivery of broadcast and digital content across all assigned platforms.
Coordinate radio traffic activities, including scheduling of programming, underwriting, and announcements to ensure accurate and compliant broadcast operations.
Maintain production standards, audio quality, and operational continuity.
Support remote broadcasts, special productions, and emergency communication operations as needed.
Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to students participating in radio, podcast, and multimedia production activities.
Oversee student scheduling and maintain an environment that supports learning, professionalism, and accountability.
Maintain operational readiness of studios, production equipment, and broadcast systems
Assist with installation, maintenance, and testing of broadcast and production equipment.
Assist with preparation and maintenance of regulatory and institutional documentation, including public file materials and operational records.
Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, copyright requirements, and institutional policies.
Coordinate with faculty, student organizations, and campus departments to support media-related programming and events.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Media Production, Digital Media, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in radio, audio production, or multimedia operations.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment supporting operational and instructional activities.
3+ years of industry experience may substitute for the education requirement
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Media Production, Digital Media, Education, or a related discipline.
Experience working in a college, university, public media, student media, or similar broadcast environment.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or training students or entry-level staff.
Familiarity with broadcast automation systems, podcast production, and digital media distribution platforms.
Working knowledge of broadcast operations, including FCC rules and standards applicable to noncommercial educational broadcasting.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain operational continuity, and adapt to changing instructional or operational needs.
Basic technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to broadcast and media equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
