Technical Documentation Specialist
Are you energized by turning complex software into clear, intuitive guidance that truly helps users succeed? In this role, you'll be a key contributor to how a sophisticated software application is understood and used by managed care organizations. You'll partner closely with developers, analysts, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality documentation that supports real user workflows online and in print.
You'll also step into a leadership role, guiding documentation efforts from concept to delivery while shaping standards, processes, and best practices along the way.
What You'll Do
Translate complexity into clarity. Partner with developers and analysts to understand product design, business rules, and user workflows—and turn that knowledge into accurate, user-friendly documentation.
Tell the full story. Provide the background, context, and system perspective users need to understand not just how to complete tasks, but why those tasks matter.
Be part of the design process. Participate in discovery and design sessions to ensure documentation is aligned with evolving product decisions.
Validate what you write. Install and maintain local application environments (including databases and builds) so you can test features directly and ensure documentation reflects real system behavior.
Own documentation quality. Apply and evolve writing standards, document templates, and usability guidelines to ensure consistency and professionalism across all deliverables.
Lead documentation processes. Define, document, and maintain procedures that enable repeatable, reliable, and scalable documentation outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement. Apply strong self-editing practices, manage peer and SME reviews, incorporate feedback, and raise the bar with every release.
Manage SME reviews end-to-end. Coordinate reviewers, set timelines, consolidate feedback, and incorporate approved changes to ensure accuracy and alignment with standards.
Work smart with reusable content. Use single-source authoring tools and methodologies to publish documentation across formats, products, and releases.
Master your tools. Create polished, professional documentation using industry-standard tools, with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Plan and prioritize independently. Own all documentation deliverables, manage timelines, and track progress—using tools like Jira or similar platforms—to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Strong technical writing expertise with the ability to quickly understand complex systems
A user-centric mindset and an eye for clarity, structure, and visual design
Confidence working independently while knowing when to engage SMEs, developers, or analysts
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
