Job Description
The TEE Video Production Specialist, reporting to the TEE Instructional Production Specialist, supports the Marketing & Public Relations, Graduate & Executive Education, and other efforts of the college through the creation of high-quality video content. This role involves working directly with MPR and GEE to produce live and recorded videos, designing engaging motion graphics, editing, pre-production, and collaborating closely with the MPR and TEE teams to ensure consistency and high-quality in all visual media while strictly adhering to college and university-wide branding standards. The Video Production Specialist works with faculty, program directors, and university stakeholders to imagine, develop, and produce promotional, educational, and informational video content that aligns with brand guidelines while strategizing with MPR and GEE on how to best craft messaging to engage with our target audiences.
Responsibilities
Video production:
• Produce promotional and other videos for the college by working directly with faculty and staff by writing scripts, developing storyboards, directing, filming, editing, captioning, color correcting, and delivering high-quality, polished video products. This includes independently and jointly producing high-level, high-visibility projects that amplify the voice of the college to its global audience.
• Work independently on development strategy, implementation, planning, execution, and delivery of medium-to-large sized video and multimedia projects delivering content within established deadlines, upload completed projects to various platforms for delivery in multiple modalities and archive completed projects according to TEE storage protocols.
• Train and coach video talent, especially those who may not have experience performing on camera, so they can deliver their best takes according to industry best practices and so the video inhabits the level of professionalism expected in the college. Additionally, this person should coach MPR and GEE on what works best on camera and in video projects.
• Strategize with MPR and GEE to craft video products from inception to delivery and post-delivery data analysis that best engage with target audiences and best align with college strategic goals.
• Produce video content for multiple platforms: social media, YouTube, podcast platforms, internal video services, and others.
• Operate cameras, teleprompters, lighting, microphones, and other equipment relating to video production; edit video using current software (Adobe Premiere and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve preferred)
• Develop visual tone of video and on-screen graphics for live and recorded events as needed
• Provide video and photography coverage for college meetings, events, workshops, and programs as needed
• Travel to produce content for the college as needed
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems as they arise
Support TEE team in their efforts to produce high-quality video content as needed.
- Assist on video shoots that cover Undergraduate and other college efforts that don't apply to MPR or GEE needs as listed elsewhere. This includes filming, lighting, carrying gear, support, setup, tear down, audio, editing, and other production items as needed.
- Work with TEE team on improving video production processes, hybrid offerings and online teaching, Virtual Reality, AI efforts, and others.
- Utilize other TEE video producers to help with filming, lighting, carrying gear, support, tear down, audio, editing, and other production items as needed for MPR- and GEE-focused projects as they align with job duties.
Equipment management and care
• Maintain the organization and setup of equipment, equipment room, studio, and equipment inventory to ensure the necessary recording tools are ready for recording and streaming
• Configure, troubleshoot, modify, and repair audio visual equipment for live and recorded sessions
• Maintain list of gear needs as items require updating.
• Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Five years of expertise in video production
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Media, Video Production, Film, or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience:
3 Years' experience in video production in higher education or marketing setting.
