Job Description
This part‑time Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating branded prints and digital design materials. This position will be collaborating with a team of senior graphic designers, web designers, video producers, and public relations and marketing professionals to ensure understanding and execution of design needs and requirements. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally creative communicator who has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, good observation skills, keen attention to detail, and proven problem‑solving ability, flexible, open‑minded, willing to adapt to changing priorities, and able to manage multiple demands; and enjoys learning and continually seeking new ways to grow personally and professionally.
Essential Duties
Using and staying up to date on Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite programs
Receiving art direction and feedback on design projects and photography, and making edits accordingly
Maintaining brand identity and consistent visual messaging across all communications and marketing channels, including digital and print
Using County‑provided project management programs to organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet the demands of clients, managers, and peers
Using images, text, and color to transform statistical data into visual graphics such as charts, graphs, diagrams, and infographics
Managing procurement, organization, and storage of files, including photos, logos, graphic design files, and other brand assets
Consulting and communicating regularly with print vendors, preparing artwork for press, and providing specifications to ensure proper execution of print jobs
Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships across all levels of the organization
Pitching new design ideas that further the organization’s branding efforts
Shooting and editing photos to meet brand standards (training will be provided)
Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
Public Speaking Duties
Explaining job duties to youth and adults during outreach programming (2–3 times per year)
Other Job Requirements/Information
This job may require on‑call rotation and emergency after‑hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Hourly Rate
The hourly rate is $23.00 an hour.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in graphic design, art, branding, marketing, or communications AND one year of graphic design, fine art, branding, art direction, or related experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job will also be considered
