Business Development Associate

ATA is seeking a Business Development Associate to assist the business development team. The position is located in San Diego, California. Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting account managers in updating Salesforce with new accounts and contacts based on conferences and meetings, performing market/customer research to assist the BD team in identifying and prioritizing new leads and opportunities, creating, maintaining, and sharing a list of upcoming government procurements in areas of ATA interest, tracking and maintaining conference listings and ATA participation, managing conference booth preparations, assisting in management and implementation of yearly sales kickoff meetings, documenting, managing, and tracking accomplishment of weekly and annual BD team meeting action items, identifying and maintaining competitive information including price information as well as investigating and monitoring GSA schedules, assisting with sending customer feedback surveys to ATA customers and recording results in Salesforce, and learning ATA products and services, management, staff, and company culture to provide customer service that meets ATA's high standards of excellence.
Requirements include being a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, holding a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis on Marketing, Sales, or Management, with an excellent academic record, having one to three years of experience in business development or marketing, possessing advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional, having experience with Salesforce desired, having strong interpersonal skills, excellent English verbal and written communication skills, and being able and willing to travel up to 5% of the time.
Salary range: Early Career Professionals: $60,000-$85,000 per year. Physical demands include communicating well in the English language in person, in written documents, via email, and by telephone, being able to spend long periods of time at a computer to help prepare proposals, reports, and other written documents, being able to sit for long periods of time to participate in meetings and conference calls, being able to travel to any and all customer sites via airplane or ground transportation, being able to lift up to 50 lb as necessary for packing, shipping, and transportation of marketing materials, laptop, luggage, etc., being willing to accept reasonable accommodations when traveling for work purposes, and being able to be mobile for up to twelve hours in a workday (conference booth monitoring, traveling to and from customer sites, etc.).
