Emmaüs Connect
In recent years, the fight against digital exclusion has become a national cause comparable to the fight against illiteracy, as digitalization accelerates and impacts all aspects of daily life: renewing identity papers, searching for housing, accessing rights… often, all of this is no longer possible without the internet.
For people in social precariousness who are not equipped or do not have the necessary skills, it is a double penalty: already marginalized, they are cut off from most essential services. Their support towards greater digital autonomy is our daily fight.
Created in 2013 and a member of the Emmaüs movement, the association Emmaüs Connect has given the power to act to more than 135,000 people in social and digital difficulty thanks to a team of a hundred employees supported by more than 1,500 volunteers in 19 action territories.
We act in three ways: by providing means of connection and equipment at affordable prices, by supporting people in difficulty on basic uses, and by training professionals in social action on the practices of digital inclusion.
