California Miramar University is seeking aSocial Media Marketing Internto support consistent content creation, short-form video production, and day-to-day social media execution across multiple platforms. This internship has the potential to transition into a longer-term or permanent role based on performance and organizational needs.

Position Overview
This role is hands‑on and execution-focused. The Social Media Marketing Intern will actively create, publish, and optimize content that supports university marketing campaigns, enrollment initiatives, and campus communications. This is not an observational internship. The successful candidate will be comfortable producing content independently, experimenting with formats, and contributing to measurable engagement growth.

Key Responsibilities

Create and publish social media content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and X

Produce short‑form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks), including basic editing and caption writing

Support monthly content planning and scheduling using social media calendars

Repurpose long‑form content (blogs, emails, landing pages) into platform‑appropriate social posts

Monitor engagement, comments, and messages and support basic community management

Assist with campaign launches, enrollment pushes, and institutional announcements

Track and report basic performance metrics including engagement, reach, and follower growth

Qualifications

Hands‑on experience creating social media content through internships, academic projects, student organizations, or personal accounts

Strong interest in social media platforms, trends, and short‑form video

Ability to manage time effectively and meet posting deadlines consistently

Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a marketing team

Education

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, or a related field is preferred but not required

Demonstrated content creation experience is valued more than formal coursework

Skills and Tools

Canva for basic graphic design

Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and general platform best practices

Basic video editing tools such as CapCut or Adobe Express

Clear, concise writing for captions and short‑form content

Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets for collaboration and reporting
