Summer Videographer for Student Life

The Summer Videographer supports the Office of Student Life in the development, design, and implementation of video assets for Residence Life, Commuter Life, Online Life, and Graduate Life. The position supports a variety of project and program needs from the design, filming, and editing of videos, to event support capturing photos and video footage.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Utilize the Office of Student Life (OSL) brand guides to develop and execute various video-based projects, including, but not limited to, social media content and assets used for various events and internal initiatives. Work with the OSL team on a project-by-project basis to produce new team materials and update existing content in a timely and creative manner.

Provide coverage of events by filming and editing video footage. Assist with B‑Roll photography and videography support for design initiatives. Occasionally work non‑standard hours (outside of Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.‑5 p.m.) as events or photography coverage needs arise. Attend required departmental events and meetings, fostering collaboration, problem solving, and community health in the workplace.

Provide input in developing project components and strategies. Offer administrative support on an as‑needed basis. Organize and maintain all digital files in Dropbox. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications And Credentials
Minimum Qualifications

Must be a Liberty University student.

Ability to operate a DSLR camera and accessories.

Ability to use Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) to edit footage.

Preferred Qualifications

Be a Liberty University student in a creative/communications field.

Ability to operate a DSLR camera and accessories.

Ability to use Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) to edit photos.

Ability to use Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, etc.) to edit videos and animations.

Communication

Effectively communicates in both verbal and written forms to convey clear, well‑articulated information.

Able to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

Demonstrates strong organization, project management, and managerial skills.

Possesses excellent computer skills, necessary for Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.

Frequently required to travel to local and campus locations.

Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs.

Handles materials, reaches overhead, kneels, or stoops to conduct business.

Regularly lifts 20 pounds or fewer.

Working Conditions
Work Environment: Typically in an office, but frequently in residence halls, warehouses, and outdoor activities.

Driving Requirements: Use of personal or university vehicle may be required. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.

Time Type: Part time.
