Summary
La Crosse Milling Company is a trusted leader in premium oat and grain ingredients. We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Sales & Marketing Manager to lead growth initiatives, strengthen customer partnerships, and expand our market presence. This remote-based position offers home-office flexibility with regular travel to customers, trade shows, and occasional visits to headquarters. You will strike a balance between hunting for new business and nurturing our long-standing partnerships. You are not just selling a product; you are providing ingredient solutions to some of the biggest names in the food industry.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
Proactively identify and land new accounts to build a robust sales pipeline.
Account Management:
Manage and grow existing customer relationships, collaborating closely with our Cochrane-based
Customer Service team
to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Pricing Strategy:
Work closely with the Cochrane-based team on contract pricing management, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in the B2B Oat Ingredients Market.
Marketing & Budgeting:
Lead marketing budget, collaborating with the Cochrane-based team on website design and advertising campaigns and selection and management of industry trade shows.
Market Analysis:
Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity to inform our sales approach.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
A minimum of
3 years
of proven success in B2B sales, preferably in food ingredients, milling, or other agricultural processing. Experience with commodity-based pricing models and the ability to navigate market volatility to protect company margins while providing customer stability.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, Agribusiness, Marketing or a closely related field is preferred.
Travel:
Ability and willingness to travel 30-40% for client visits, trade shows, and occasional trips to our headquarters in Cochrane, WI.
Strategic Thinking:
Demonstrated ability to manage complex contract negotiations and marketing budgets.
Communication:
Strong communication, negotiation, and self-management skills
Self-Starter:
The discipline to manage a remote schedule and hit targets without daily handholding.
Paid Travel & Mileage Reimbursement
This position includes paid travel time for business-related travel, along with mileage reimbursement for authorized use of a personal vehicle at the current IRS mileage rate. Travel may include customer visits, business development meetings, networking events, community involvement, training, and other sales and marketing activities. Approved travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Company policy.
Compensation
Starting Salary: $70,000+ commensurate with experience
