Assistant Teaching Professor, Clarinet Non-Tenure Track Faculty (1-Year Sabbatical Replacement)
The School of Music seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable, in-person instruction in applied clarinet. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching music appreciation (Enjoyment of Music and American Popular Music), aural perception, and/or theory/composition courses. The appointment is a 1-year sabbatical replacement (fall and spring semesters), non-tenure track.

The NTT faculty positions in the School of Music are vital in providing specialized instruction for our degree programs and enhancing the musical diversity and collaborative potential of the tenured and tenure-track faculty through performance, composition, and scholarship.
The successful candidate will teach applied clarinet consisting of both music and non-music majors. The appointment will include teaching in a secondary area(s) of need – music appreciation (Enjoyment of Music and American Popular Music), aural perception, and/or theory/composition courses. The appointment is a 1-year sabbatical replacement (fall and spring semesters), non-tenure track. The appointment will also include other responsibilities that vary with the needs of the school.
Master's degree in clarinet performance. Clarinet performance experience and/or graduate study on clarinet. Successful studio teaching experience. Experience or potential as a college-level music instructor.
Doctorate or ABDin clarinet performance. Successful teaching experience in clarinet at the college level. Successful teaching in a secondary area(s) at the college level.
Be able to work closely with other faculty in a collegiate environment and contribute to the academic mission of the school. Work effectively with students from different backgrounds and levels of experience.
