Contract_Communications Manager

Macmillan Publishers is seeking an experienced Communications Contractor to provide coverage and continuity for the Communications team during an employee leave of absence. This six-month contract role will support day-to-day internal communications, help maintain momentum across key projects, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Finance, Technology, Facilities, and leadership. The contractor will report to the VP, Communications & Community and collaborate with a five-person team.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, edit, and proof internal communications for company-wide and targeted audiences
Support recurring communications such as newsletters, employee updates, and executive messaging
Help manage communications calendars, workflows, and incoming requests
Coordinate cross-functional communications projects and keep deliverables on track
Assist in planning and executing town halls, employee updates, and other large-scale meetings
Develop agendas, scripts, presentation materials, and run-of-show documents
Review communications for clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency
Provide flexible operational and project support across Communications team priorities
Qualifications

Several years of experience in corporate or internal communications, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Demonstrated project management experience with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
Experience supporting town halls or large-scale internal meetings
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing team
Familiarity with tools such as Asana or similar workflow platforms is a plus

This is a contractor role that will be hired through a third party vendor, Noor Staffing.
